Order of Suspension Revocation

Have You Received an Order of Suspension/Revocation?

If you have received an “Order of Suspension/Revocation” from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), you have just been notified that the DMV is in the process of suspending or revoking your privilege to drive in California. Read the order carefully as it will tell you if the suspension or revocation of your driving privilege immediate or if you have time to respond. The Order of Suspension/Revocation will also identify reason this action is being taken.

TAKE THIS NOTICE SERIOUSLY. The DMV is telling you that your driving privilege WILL be suspended or revoked.

Why is this Happening?

The vast majority of these notices are issued for the following reasons:

  • Following a DUI Arrest
  • Accumulating too many moving violations
  • Failing to maintain auto insurance
  • Having a Physical or Mental Ailment
  • Being involved in a fatal accident
  • Addiction to or habitual use of meds or drugs
  • Committing an act of fraud
  • Addiction to or habitual use of alcohol.

Various sections of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) empower and mandate that the DMV suspend or revoke a person’s driving privilege for a variety of reasons. You have received your Order of Suspension/Revocation because the DMV believes they are justified in taking you off the road. I know it seems impossible but the DMV does have the power to do so….However, you have the power to FIGHT BACK!

Your Reaction MUST be Immediate

Every Order of Suspension/Revocation issued by the DMV must identify your rights to protect yourself. Read your order carefully because it will provide that you must contact the DMV in 5 days, 10 days or 14 days; depending upon the nature of the action being taken.
